Parc de la Villette is located at the outer edge of the 19th arrondissement, bordering the Boulevard Périphérique, which is a ring road around Paris, and the suburban department of Seine-Saint-Denis. At 55 hectares these grounds constitute the largest fully-landscaped park in the city of Paris. The park houses public facilities devoted to science and music, playgrounds for children, and thirty-five architectural follies. The park is the home to the Cité des Sciences et de l’Industrie and La Géode, an Omnimax domed theatre. The Park also features a the Dragon Garden with an 80m dragon whose tongue doubles as a slide. There are numerous workshops, activities and events for children (some for toddlers as young as 18 months) throughout the year.
