Pizzas are served “in giro” meaning they just keep bringing out pizzas, one at a time and of different varieties, until you say “basta!” Chef Zia Graziella has been creating pasta dough for over thirty-five years – first as the proprietor of a fresh, homemade pasta shop in the historical center and now as a highly regarded, wood-fired pizza cook. The restaurant is in her own farmhouse and not easy to find. Just a few kilometers outside the center of Orvieto there’s an area known as Localita’ Ponte del Sole. Look out for a small hand painted sign with the words “Risto-Pizzeria da Zia Graziella” nailed to a tree.

We love Zia Graziella’s in the warmer months, when families can sit outside and kids can run around and play a bit. (EH)
