Salesians Sarrià is a private sixth form and vocational college school in Barcelona, offering the Catalan regional Batxillerat, the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme or a range of Vocational Education and Training (VET).
Salesians Sarrià was founded in 1884 by the Salesians of Don Bosco, a religious congregation of men in the Catholic church. The Salesians’ charter describes the mission as “the Christian perfection of its associates obtained by the exercise of spiritual and corporal works of charity towards the young, especially the poor, and the education of boys to the priesthood”.
Salesians Sarrià offers a range of teaching possibilities in Middle- and Higher-level VET courses, the regional Catalan Batxillerat and the IB Diploma Programme. The school places an emphasis on innovation and entrepreneurship.
The school offers 17 different VET cycles – including graphics arts, engineering, finance & administration, vehicle maintenance, careworking, renewable technologies, and more. 90% of the vocational training courses are in the Dual format which is split between in-college and in-company training. Professional training is provided together with an International Relations Department to prepare students for the European job market. Learning support and counslling services are also available to students to promote psychologically healthy environments. The school’s Career Service Department helps students with job seeking and developing their career management skills.
Salesian Sarrià is based in the Sarrià district of Barcelona, and is a 20 minute drive from the city centre.
