The Swiss School of Barcelona (Schweizerschule Barcelona – Escola Suiza de Barcelona) teaches the Swiss Curriculum to pupils aged 3 -18. The school is one of the oldest international schools in Barcelona, having opened its doors in 1919.
The schools is approved by the Swiss Government to teach the national curriculum in German, but with additional language learning in Castellano Spanish, Catalan and English. The school is multicultural and multilingual and is open to children from all nationalities
Students ages 16-18 can study a dual diploma to receive Swiss Matura and regional Catalan Batxillerat diplomas.
The double diploma allows for application to universities in both Switzerland and Spain.
The school offers a free service for parents to leave their children at the school from 8a.m. until classes begin at 9:20a.m. An extra service to care for children until 6p.m. is available for a cost of €5 per day.
The school places an emphasis on organic food, providing school lunches that are healthy and sustainable.
The Swiss School of Barcelona is based in the Sant Gervasi – Galvany district of Barcelona, and is a 10 minute drive from the city centre.
The school does not make its fees public, but admissions can be started on the school’s website (in German and Castellano Spanish).
