It’s that time of year again when parents gear up for the 13 week summer holiday with the children. There are summer camps in Barcelona normally during the second half of June and all of July, whilst parents continue to work. August is generally taken as a holiday for all the family, although as work habits change, increasing numbers of clubs and organisations are offering summer camps during this month too. There are a huge variety of summer camps in Barcelona available in summer 2021, all Covid compliant of course, from design studios to Robotix, there is something for every child. Here are our pick of some of the best summer camps in English in Barcelona.
The American School of Barcelona is running two summer programmes this year from June 28th to July 23rd 2021. There is an English Morning Programme for children ages 3-16 from 9:30 to 14:00. Children ages 3-5 have English classes and activities such as puzzles, art, songs, and yoga. For children ages 6-16, they will take part in 3 daily English classes with opportunities for art classes, sports, and activities in the computer lab. For any parent looking for an extended day programme, an option is available so children can stay in the programme until 17:00 with lunch being provided. This is a choice for all the ages 3 to 16. Extended day activities include art, science, drama, video/movie-making and music. The cost of the morning programme is 905€ which includes a 100€ deposit. The extended programme is 1.215€. The due date for all payment is June 8th
Register for ASB Summer Programme
The Benjamin Franklin International School is offering different summer programmes for different grades. Their summer camp is open to BFIS students in grades Nursery through Grade 5. The date of their camp is June 21st to July 9th. The camp programme is from 8:45 to 13:15. There is an optional afternoon robotics programme from 13:30 to 15:30 for any child interested or any parent in need of an extended day camp for their child. The camp will provide interactive English literacy and vocabulary opportunities for students while at the same time having art and outdoor sports available for all groups. Each week there will be a different theme i.e. science, world cultures, the environment, ecosystems, and wildlife. The afternoon robotics course will focus on programming and using Lego robots. All morning programs will be led by BFIS teachers, while the robotics programme will be run by teachers from Robotix. Throughout the course of the camp, students should bring their own morning snacks and lunch.
For Benjamin Franklin International students ONLY, there is a 6-day, 5-nights overnight camp from June 28th to July 3rd. The camp is in Albergue Can Ribals (La Cerdanya). The price of this camp is 660€ which includes full-time chaperone, room and board, science, and sports activities.

British College Gavà summer camp 2021 is back with their “Building a New World “camp and “Academic English” camp for both BCG and non-BCG students. The school is in Gavà Mar near Castelldefels, 20 minutes from Barcelona city centre. Building a New World camp will run from 28th June to 30th July. The camp will be Monday-Friday, 08:30 to 16:30 with early drop off available at 8 am. This camp will provide English workshops for English language development with added interaction that will teach the campers about sustainable development. Activities such as art, tennis, tree planting, dancing, robotics, and drone flying are part of the programme. Children ages 3-14 can attend for a full day at 225€ or half-day for 175€. There is a 10% discount for BCG students as well.
Academic English Camp will begin from 28th June to 30th July, Monday- Friday, 9:00 to 13:00 with lunch included. Academic English camp is for teenagers 13-17. A project-based English camp to help improve the students’ academic English while targeting B1/B2 levels that will include Cambridge Preliminary and First style preparation materials. English Lessons will be for 3 hours and taught by a native English-speaking teacher who will target speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills. The cost to attend is 200€ with a 10% discount for BCG students.

British College Gavà
The British School of Barcelona is offering a summer school camp from 28th June to 30th July 2021 at BSB Sitges and BSB Castelldefels, Monday through Friday. The camp is open to children ages 3 to 13 who attend BSB and other schools. The summer camp provides programmes that focus on four different areas: creativity, communication, problem-solving and physical education. Two programmes are offered, depending on the child’s age. Summer Play is for children 3 to 5 years old with all activities done in small groups, lead by English-speaking staff who will help provide opportunities through play, crafts, singing and drama, that will allow children to improve their English skills. This programme is from 9:00 to 17:00.
For older children, BSB Sitges will be for ages 6-11 and BSB Castelldefels for ages 6-13. The students will perform various activities such as sport, crafts, music and dance. The intention of the activities is to enhance the student’s English vocabulary in different real-world situations. These programmes also run from 9:00 to 17:00. For both the summer play and summer activity programmes, there are two scheduling options. Half-day for both programmes, which does not include lunch (9.00-13.00) is 195€. Full day for both camps, with lunch, 9.00-17.00 is 290€. There is a 5% discount for siblings, 10% discount for three or more weeks – which do not have to be consecutive. There is a one-off matriculation fee for an external student of 30€.

Hamelin-Laie International school has pulled out all the stops with their 10 different summer programme options and activities. There are five English camps available to help immerse the students in the English language and improve their skills. Their various themes include: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Inventions, The World of Fairy Tales, Around the World and Search of Treasure. The Reduce, Reuse, Recycle camp is for 1st to 3rd graders while the Invention themed camp is for 4th to 6th graders. All five camps will be from the 28th of June to the 29th of July. Camp is from 9.00 to 17.00 and will include sports, water games, arts and crafts and music. Lunch and a snack will be provided. The weekly price is 190€ except for the week of 26th of July to July 29th which will cost 152€.
For more adventurous and daring kids ages 3-16, there is a summer roller skating program from the 28th of June to the 23rd of July. The schedule is 9.00 to 17.00. The weekly price is 160€. Children interested in dances like ballet, hip-hop and contemporary dance, have an opportunity to enrol in a weekly summer dancing course. They will learn choreographies and play body expression games. The courses are for P3 to 12 years old. It runs from the 28th of June to the 23rd of July, 9.00 to 13.00. The weekly fee is 140€. For children interested in Robotics, they can enrol in the robotics summer course. The camp runs from the 28th of June to the 23rd of July. Camp is from 9.00 to 13.00 and the fee to enrol weekly is 140€.
Lastly, for older children in secondary school and baccalaureate students and adults there is an English and Spanish camp course available to improve grammar, writing and conversation skills. The dates are the 28th of June to the 23rd of July from 9.00 to 13.00. The weekly price is 190€.

The Urban Hub of Learnlife is offering four different summer design studio programmes this summer starting on the 28th of June through to the 23rd of July. Students aged 9 to 18 can take part in one of four design tracks such as culinary arts, visual arts, maker and entrepreneurship. Apart from these four options, there is also a tech camp available for students interested in technology. The design studio programmes run for 2 weeks at a time and help the students grow in the set of skills needed to succeed in each track and learn technical skills and autonomy. Camp time is 9:00 to 14:00 with early drop-off and late pick up available for an extra 20€. Pricing for the camp is as follows: 1 week (180€), 2 weeks (320€), 3 weeks (470€) and 4 weeks (600€). Oak House School is back for their 33rd summer school programme. It is an English camp for children 3 to 14 years old that will be running from the 28th of June to the 23rd of July. This summer the programme will work with the children on their socio-emotional skills aiming to provide them with tools to better develop their personal well-being. Each week will be planned around four themes: self-control, mindfulness, gratitude and communication. Many fun activities are planned as well like swimming, water polo, talent shows, exhibition into the forest, and for older children they can take part in the sleepover that happens once a week.
During the summer school, breakfast and a snack will be supplied for all participants. Camp hours are from 9:00 to 16.30 with an earlier drop off time at 8:00 available and late pickup time till 17:00. Prices are: 1 week (230€), 2 weeks (445€), 3 weeks (630€) and 4 weeks (795€). A summer English immersion camp for children ages 3 to 12 years old from the 28th of June to the 30th of July. Camp hours are 9:00 to 16:00 with an option for earlier drop off time at 8:00 at an added price. Classes and activities are led by native English-speaking teachers that help both in the infant (3 to 6yrs old) and the Junior (6 to 12yrs old) programmes. The children take part in sports, water games, workshops, cooking, arts and crafts and other activities while interacting with children of other nationalities. The price for the camp includes lunch, onsite resources and medical insurance. The pricing is as follows: 1 week (231€), 2 weeks (438€), 3weeks (644€) four weeks (747€), and five weeks (890€). The early drop off called breakfast club is 20€ a week. There is also a non-refundable registration fee of 200€.
