The Academy International School in Mallorca teaches the English national curriculum for students aged 2 – 16 years.
The Academy school in Mallorca was founded in 1985. Students range in age from 2 to 16 years and the language of instruction is English. The school follows the English national curriculum and students can continue their education up to iGCSE examination level. For A Level, they can choose one of the other English-speaking international schools in Mallorca. The school fully implements all and any requirements from the local Spanish authorities and Spanish language and literature, along with environment and history, are studied at the same time. The school offers a huge variety of extracurricular activities, from ballet to guitar, as well as revision and extra help in academic subjects.
The Academy International School is set in seven acres of spectacular grounds, which include playing fields, swimming pool, tennis court, football field and orchard. The school even has some animals including horses.
The school does not publish its tuition fees online. According to isbi schools website, however, fees range from 4650 to 8650 euros annually.
English is a requirement for students wishing to join the Academy International School at all levels. From Primary school through to Secondary, students are asked to submit their academic record for consideration – from Secondary, new students are asked to sit entrance exams in Maths and English. Unlike the other international schools, The Academy International School is situated a little outside of Palma, but this is compensated for by a privileged location with its own sports facilities. The school remains a 20-minute drive from the centre of Palma de Mallorca.
