The Elizabeth English Academy

The Elizabeth English Academy is a a bilingual (Italian/ English) primary & middle school teaching pupils from 3-14.

About

The Elizabeth English Academy with a broad curriculum drawing upon both the Italian and English national education systems.

The school has three main programmes:

• Early Years
• Primary (years 1- 5)
• Middle School (years 6-8)

Most subjects, except Italian, are taught in English. In year 4 and 5 the school teaches Maths in Italian so as to give the children total immersion within both their language areas. In addition to the written curriculum, children also partake in PE and arts and crafts on a weekly basis.

All pupils study English, Mathematics, Science, Art, Geography, History, ICT and PE (e.g. football and volleyball), ICT and Art lessons are taught by specialist members of staff. Assessment is ongoing, with end of topic and end of year tests in the core and other written subjects.

Location

The school is located in San Giuliano Terme, Pisa, and is a short 8-minute drive from the city centre. Pisa itself is on the coastline of the region of Tuscany, and is a 1 hour 30 minute drive from the city of Florence.
