The English School of Mutxamel teaches the English national curriculum to pupils from nursery through to sixth form, and is located just outside of Alicante city.
The English School of Mutxamel is a British school, offering the British national curriculum, where children of different nationalities work together in a multicultural environment (although the majority of families are of Spanish nationality).
The English School opened its doors in September of 2002 in response to a growing demand from parents within the area. In January 2003, the school obtained British Council certification and in February of the same year, authorisation from the local education authority (the Generalitat Valenciana).
The school has a large ecological garden where pupils take part in activities related to several class subjects. See more facilities at the English School here.
Students are prepared to take iGCSE qualifications at the end of Key Stage 4. In Year 12 and Year 13, pupils study a combined programme of A-Levels and obligatory subjects of the Spanish national curriculum. These studies open the door for university applications to both the UK and Spain.
The school does not make its tuition fees public online.
The school is non-selective, but entry exams may be requested of pupils. To begin the admissions process parents can fill out a Registration Application Form after making initial contact with the school (see links below).
The school is situated within a quiet residential area of Mutxamel, with easy access from the various zones within the area (Campello, San Juan, Villafranqueza, San Vicente, Torrellano, central Alicante, etc.)
