21 Mar United Nations Nursery School, Paris
The nursery school was founded in 1951 by a group of parents of different nationalities who were working for UNESCO and welcomes children between two and a half and six years of age. The active teaching environment is led by an experienced team of bilingual English/French teachers. The 2 and 3 year olds have an initiation in English with an English teacher twice a week and their room teachers are bilingual. The 4 and 5 year olds have a bilingual programme : half day in English and half day in French with 2 different teachers. A bucolic setting in an urban environment, the school nestles amid greenery in a quiet little cul-de-sac far from the noise and bustle of city streets. The children enjoy a private sunny garden itself surrounded by greenery (1500 square meters). Here they learn to observe nature , they plant flowers and grow vegetables. The garden is a source of fundamental discoveries which enrich their understanding of the world.
