Volkspark Friedrichshain

January 7, 2018 | Activities, Berlin, Germany

Volkspark Friedrichshain is a large urban park on the border of the Berlin neighborhoods of Friedrichshain and Prenzlauer Berg. It is the oldest public park in Berlin and the fourth-largest. This park offers many playgrounds, a skateboard park, fun hills (popular in the winter time for sledding), a big sandpit for volleyball, an open air cinema (seasonal), a restaurant and fountains. A short but great walk up the ‘Großer Bunkerberg’ takes you to a nice look-out point.

Berlin has many green spaces and their parks are often well kept and family friendly. For some simple fun at any time a year, this park is a nice place to let the kids run free. (Ariana Sargent)
