Just 25 minutes drive from the centre of Munich, this huge wildlife park, with nature trails through free roaming animals, plus zoo and bird of prey shows, is a great way to spend the day. Open all year around (apart from Christmas day). There are plenty of picnic tables and a small café in the summer months.

From countless animal encounters (no uber exotic species, the animals here are all residents of Bavaria), to the absolutely huge play areas, and the huge forest to explore (complete with friendly free-range deer who like to be fed – food available at the entrance), this great way to spend the day.
