Wind Rose psychological care was founded by psychologists Dr Irene Pretoriani and Dr Eleonora Zuliani who offer psychological care for the international community, in particular for families living abroad. Wind Rose is the result of their combined passion for intercultural experiences and interest in people’s psychological and emotional well-being. For the expat community they offer individual psychological support, parenting support and group counselling. All of their services are available both face-to-face in Milan and online, in Italian, English and French.

Irene and Eleonora have both studied and worked abroad, spending long periods away from home and understand the challenges faced by families living abroad. The issues they address are mainly related to culture shock, stress, loneliness, anxiety and depression as well as psychopathological syndromes which are specifically linked to relocation, such as Ulysses’s Syndrome or the Expat Child Syndrome. Irene and Eleonora can address the changing family dynamic when a family no longer has it’s support network around (grandparents, aunts, uncles, friends etc), when the family is faced with a different education system and with difficulties that often arise from integrating into a new culture while not losing sight of your own culture.

What we like about them

Specialised in psychological support for people living abroad.
Multilingual psychologists with experience living and working abroad.
Group counselling available aimed at facilitating the sharing of experiences.
Parenting support for families missing their support network of extended family and friends.
Supporting children to adapt to a new cultural and school environment.

In their own words

When we first moved to a foreign country, we hadn’t been warned about the number of adjustments we would have needed to go through in order to adapt to a new culture, its values and norms. One’s natural and social environment, working conditions and especially family life can easily be affected by the need to reorganise life and find a new balance in the welcoming country. Having experienced expat life firsthand, we know, as psychologists, how crucial it is to address such issues to ensure a smooth transition for the whole family. For this reason, combined with our interest in overcoming language barriers, we provide professional emotional and psychological support in English, Italian and French, both face-to-face (in Milan), and online.” Founders Dr. Irene Pretoriani and Dr. Eleonora Zuliani
