Women in Business in Catalonia

Catalonia has a burgeoning start-up scene, with a vast and fast-growing network of inspiring women in business in Barcelona and beyond, working across many industries. With such a diverse international community, Catalonia offers the ideal setting for expat women entrepreneurs in the region who feel empowered to go it alone and set-up their own businesses.

 

With the world mobile congress hosting the biggest names in technology each year, the digital scene in Barcelona is booming and set to increase exponentially in the forthcoming years, with social-media savvy international women pioneering growing numbers of start-ups and online business ideas for mumsShecommerce is a conference style event bringing together the next generation of women entrepreneurs in e-commerce. 

 

Barcelona Women’s Network  offers support and friendship to local and international women living and working in Barcelona and the surrounding areas. Welcoming all mums in Barcelona who own their own business or work in a creative field, BCN Mompreneurs  is an informal English-speaking meet up for international working mothers in Barcelona. Women With Ambition is also a group for professional female business founders, hosting interesting events and mentor programmes. 

 

Barcelona is home to many fantastic co-working spaces including Downtown Offices, the first work hub for female entrepreneurs in Spain. Cobaby is an innovative space for expat and local working women providing space to work with nursery services close by. Not exclusively for women, ChiringuitOffice  is a friendly, sunny, relaxed co-working space for digital nomads and freelancers in Poblenou, Barcelona’s renowned technology neighbourhood. 

 

From the Maresme Coast, Girona Province and the Costa Brava to Sitges and Sant Cugat, it is not just the centre of Barcelona drawing talented international women. From the healthcare and wellness sector, to architecture, law, marketing and PR and more, there have never been so many creative, exciting mum-owned businesses in the region.

Sitges Entrepreneurial Women’s Network is building a multicultural community and platform where entrepreneurial women in Sitges can share their skills, feel empowered, learn from each other, and ultimately thrive in their business ventures.
