The American Overseas School of Rome stands as a distinguished education establishment renowned for its commitment to academic excellence and cultural enrichment. AOSR is located on Via Cassia, in a beautiful residential area surrounded by a natural reserve to the north of the city. The campus has its own 2.5 hectares (roughly 6 acres), and offers the largest and most complete facilities of any international school in Rome. The school offers a rigorous academic programme complemented by a nurturing and inclusive environment. Embracing cultural diversity, the school welcomes a diverse community of students from numerous nationalities, fostering a sense of unity and understanding among its members. With a commitment to providing a holistic education, the school encourages students to explore their passions and talents beyond academics, offering a wide array of extracurricular activities and programmes.
There are 200 students in the Elementary School at AOSR. The school emphasises a student-centered approach, encouraging inquiry-based learning, collaborative projects, and hands-on activities to support the holistic development of each child. American Standards allows continuity of learning for students who move to another American School or relocate back to the States. There are 2 sections to each grade level and teachers provide a loving environment for these young learners. Children are innately curious and AOSR supports that curiosity throughout the elementary programme.
