Caxton College in Valencia is a co-educational, day and boarding school offering both the English and Spanish national curriculums.
Caxton College was founded in 1987 by the Gil Marqués family, and as of 2021 is still run by a family member: Amparo Gil Marqués. The school’s motto is Honeste Vivereis or ‘live honourably’ and its aim is to establish firm future social relations for all alumni based on sincerity, respect and responsibility.
The school offers the English national curriculum with 80% of teachers hailing from the United Kingdom. The school teaches pupils from pre-nursery through to gaining iGCSE qualifications and A Levels (Edexcel and AQA) – ages 1-18 years. The remaining teaching staff are Spanish, and are responsible for obligatory subjects such as Spanish Language, Valencian, Spanish Social Studies and Religion, allowing pupils to optionally obtain Spain’s ESO and Bachillerato qualifications.
Around 80% of pupils are Spanish, and can go on to apply to either Spanish, British or international universities thanks to the school’s offer of dual qualifications. The school is also a pioneer, being the only British school in Valencia to offer Philosophy, Psychology and Sociology during sixth form.
Find out more about the school on its dedicated blog page.
Caxton College also offers a homestay programme, where students are placed with a Spanish host family. Visit the school’s website for more information.
The school asks for prospective parents to contact them via:

The school is non-selective but for sixth form strong GCSE results are required. Students entering from other education systems must sit entrance exams, however.
